The members of the
Independent Fire Company of Belford put together an effort to help the victims
of Hurricane Katrina.Over a three day period we accepted donations to send to
the affected regions of the storm.
The result was astounding.
Approximately 350 family's came out over the
Holiday weekend to lend their support to the Victims of Hurricane Katrina. We
collected everything from bottled water and diapers to pet food and crayons.
Neighborhood children emptied every penny from their piggy banks. They sold
lemonade and donated their earnings to us, so that we may give it to the
Victims. One couple donated 75 cases of bottled water in one day. It was an
unbelievable weekend that we will never forget. Americans coming out to help
Americans.
The members of the Independent Fire Company of Belford would like to thank each
