Did you know that the M.T.F.D. is an all volunteer fire department?

The M.T.F.D. consists of members of our community who dedicate their lives to providing fire protection for all who live, work and visit our town. Our volunteers are your neighbors, friends, relatives and co-workers. Our volunteers are fathers and sons. They are lawyers, electricians, students and teachers. The M.T.F.D. provides its services to the public at no cost, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.        
 
Did you know that the M.T.F.D. is the world's largest, all volunteer fire department?

The Department has approximately 600 volunteer members. There are 11 different Fire Companies located through out the Township. The M.T.F.D. possesses its own Hazardous Materials and Technical Rescue Team. Known as the Special Services Unit, its members are trained in hazardous materials response and containment, building collapse and high angle rescue.

Did you know the M.T.F.D. has it's own Fire Training Academy?

The Middletown Township Fire Training Academy and its staff of dedicated instructors are responsible for training all of our own firefighters. In addition to training our own, the M.T.F.A. serves as the training facility for many other local Fire Departments, from several different Counties.

The volunteer fire service is engaged in an ever lasting struggle to recruit and maintain a sufficient number of members. With the demands of today's world our members find it harder and harder to give more and more time. If you find the requirements of a volunteer to be too demanding, please remember that the Fire Companies hold annual Fund Drive's to collect donations. These donations are a direct benefit to you! With your help the Fire Companies are able to make the necessary repairs, upgrades and purchases for Apparatus and Equipment.
